The day felt surreal. Our bags were packed. Our house in order. And our journey about to begin.
My dear friend Tracy drove us to the airport that day and my heart and emotions were so raw. God had worked amazing miracles to get us on that plane. And here we were, standing out in front of the Sea-Tac Airport preparing to board a 13 hour flight to China.
The amount of prayers, support, and love that surrounded us was truly incredible. And in this day and age of Facebook and Instagram, you all watched our journey unfold. We are forever grateful for all of you who were a part of our journey and a part of bringing Tristan home!
I can now say that we slightly over-packed. Haha! Being gone for two weeks and traveling to 3 different climates was a tad tricky. Not to mention, our bags were FILLED with diapers, wipes, food for Tristan, formula, gifts for the orphanage, gifts for officials, gifts for guides, and a butt-load of other things… we for sure weren’t traveling light.
We made it through security without any problems and had plenty of time to spare before we boarded the plane. One really fun thing that took place was we flew to China from Seattle with another family from our adoption group that we would be on the trip with for the next two weeks.
Nothing like watching a bazillion movies and sitting right behind first class. It’s always fun to watch them receive their fresh fruit and cheese on platters while we ate our decadent microwaveable meal, which honestly, wasn’t THAT bad.
Not a whole lot of sleeping was had on our flight to China. But we survived.
