Adoption. It is such a life altering experience truly difficult to put into words. Adoption is beauty through tragedy. Redemption through abandonment. It will strip every emotion you have and bring it to the surface. It is an experience I am so grateful to have walked. And grateful to have experienced with these incredible families.
Everyone of these families has a beautiful story that brought them to saying YES to adoption. They are heroes to me. They are pillars of strength and courage. And even when we would meet up with puffy eyes or tears still stinging our eyes from ALL the feelings that take place when caring for a broken, hurting, and scared child, you knew in that moment you weren’t alone.
Adoption is hard. The feelings you process and sift through are hard. But on the other side of the hard is beauty through redemption. At the end of this post is one of the Dad’s on our trip sharing his story… his process… his journey.
As one of our last sight-seeing excursions before our Consulate Appointment, we headed to the Guangzhou Zoo.
After the Zoo we headed back to the hotel for a little rest. Then decided to venture across the street, which means, finding the subway system, crossing under the road, and finding the entrance to a MAMMOTH park. It was a fun adventure! Destination, Goat Statue.
Understanding this journey is hard to put into words unless you live it. But Travis Waltner, one of the awesome Dad’s on our trip, shares how God is in every moment. Even those moments of fear.
