The Joy of Discovering

The Joy of Discovering

Build. Crash. Build. Crash and Repeat.

I love watching him discover new things. His mind never stops and he always wants to know how things work. He loves all things vehicle related and loves to point them out with an enthusiastic yell "CAH!"

He has grown so much in the 4 months we have been home. His institutionalized behaviors are slowly disappearing and his true personality is coming through. He is so joyful, so enthusiastic, so happy. I couldn't imagine our family without him. He is so much our son, it is crazy.

Adoption is hard, but the triumphs are SO great.

Coming home is so much more than just adjusting to a new timezone with a new little one. There is a grieving process every child that is adopted goes through, no matter what their age... And mama and daddy experience it right along with them. You cry when they cry for hours in the middle of the night as their little bodies and minds learn to trust, accept love, and know they are safe. There are many hard moments, but there are SO many more triumphs, joys, and healing that takes place that makes every exhausting moment worth it a millions times over. And to witness God work in a MIGHTY and powerful way is a blessing I will cherish for a lifetime.

Tristan is a walking miracle. His story and legacy is just beginning and we are so thankful to be a part of it.
