Gingerbread House Making

Gingerbread House Making

Today the kids and I joined in on some fun festive Christmas celebrations with our Classical Conversations Thursday Community. The kids put on a fantastic Talent Show in front of their peers and loved ones. It was so awesome to see these kids conquer nerves and use their public speaking skills that they learn all throughout the year be put to use.

I was so proud of Brooklynn for joining in on the talent show. She chose to sing for the first time in front of an audience and did SO well, especially while having a sore throat and stuffy nose! It made this Mama’s heart so happy to play the piano for her as she sang her first solo. She has been asking me for years, “When can I join the worship team?” And today, she sang and worshiped with and in front of her peers.

Tristan also decided he wanted to get in on the action last minute. While our two hilarious emcee’s were closing out the talent show, Tristan walked on stage, stood next to them, and decided he wanted to sing the Doxology, which is how we close our open assembly each week. He stood tall and proud as his sweet little voice sang, “Praaaaaise God from whom all blessings floooooow!” never missing a note. I am SOOOO bummed I didn’t get it on video!

At the end of the talent show they did a fun vote, and surprise, surprise, Tristan stole the show and won a Gingerbread House Kit. Too funny!

I am so grateful for my two kids. Blessed beyond words. I am also so grateful for the Classical Conversations Community God brought us to 5 years ago. If you know my story, homeschooling was NEVER a part of “my” plan. But God had other plans, and I am so glad I listened and obeyed. The friends and relationships I have gained have been an answer to prayers.
